Keeping Blackheath Clean in May

Illegal Dumping and Littering

The number of bags filled this month due to littering has come down and we thank you for trying to keep the public areas clean.  We are still not where we want to be but we do see a great improvement.  We also have had the odd dumping incident that needed our attention but it has also come down drastically from the previous months due to our proactive approach to this problem that includes patrolling by our staff and ST3 Security.  We appeal to everyone to call the BCID security vehicle when spotting a suspicious vehicle that may be dumping building material or garden refuse or even tyres as this has been a serious problem so far during 2012.

Our cleansing team have once again managed to cleanse every street in Blackheath during May. They have also mowed the verges in Waggie, Heath, Nebula, Trafford, Anfield and Range Roads. They will continue with the rest of the roads in June.  The staff filled 97 bags with litter this month and used another 48 on the clearing of sidewalks and mowed grass. That brings the number of bags used by the cleansing team to 145.

Please ensure that you get a photograph of the event for the purpose of having evidence to support the complaint when you observe illegal dumping.
