Security Update

Crime stats indicate that crime is still on the rise and the statistics in the surrounding areas are even higher. Make sure that your premises are secure. Ensure you DO NOT make yourself a target of crime by leaving valuables unattended or easily accessible, whether in your vehicle or on your desk. We are asking for all businesses to keep cash trading to a minimum as there were 4 armed robberies from December last year till now.

The latest incident was on the 8th of February where persons were apprehended in front of Pallet Supply. Luckily police received an anonymous tip and could make arrests. Three men were arrested and two illegal firearms were confiscated by the SAPS. Our security company is working closely with the SAPS to take crime prevention steps as all the areas around Blackheath and throughout the Cape Metropolitan Area are experiencing a very high crime rate relating to robberies and break ins.

Please visit www.bcid.org.za to find our security weekly and monthly incident reports that may assist you in identifying trends and prevent you from becoming a victim of crime. Incident reports are filed on the home page under incident reports and weekly and monthly reports under documents.

We will continue to send out monthly crime updates so that we can keep up to speed with and warn of crime trends within the Sector that includes Blackheath (both Industrial and residential), Westbank and Driftsands.
