News in July 2013

Wow!  How time flies!  We have now officially moved into the second half and third quarter of 2013.  What a year it has been for development within the local area.  The Happy Valley formal housing development, the New Home Choice Development, the Busmark 2000 Development, the Maxman / Heritage Castings development, the new extensions to Goosebumps Factory in Range Road.  Belgotex relocated to Nebula Crescent, we welcomed DB Schenker to Rand Road in their place.  GR Building & Steel relocated to the new Kwela Park where we see new development.  Then there is much in the form of new interest and new property acquisitions in the local area.

My apology to those I have not mentioned in this brief summary, please feel free to invite us to feature your company and any related developments or issues to brag about in our next Newsletter?

New development also means new infrastructure.  There were upgrades to Wimbledon Road, road repairs in Range Road and various other infrastructure developments throughout the area.

We are happy to say that the BCID has just completed its annual financial audit.  The Directors signed off the Annual Audited Financial Statements last week.  Now all that remains is the arranging of our Annual General Meeting where we report back to members and agree on our Implementation Plan and Budget for the next financial year.  The date for this meeting was set at a recent meeting of the Directors for the 02nd of October 2013.  All details of this meeting will be forwarded separately.

We are and remain the best run and most successful City Improvement District of the 27 registered City Improvement Districts in the Cape Metropolitan Area.  We are proud to be committed to making a difference in the Blackheath Industrial Area!
